You might have noticed that a lot of bloggers are offering ‘free newsletters’ at the moment like John Chow and Carl O’Cab. I’ve been wondering how they are offering such a service. Well I found a company in which you can get a free trial with for 60 days! Called Constant Contact.
Constant Contact seem to be a very well established company with over 100,000 members. They also offer a very good support system for all accounts even if you are on the free trial. By phone, email or IM.
Once signed up for the free trial you can get setting up your emails quite easily, as there are large amount of customizable templates available to make your emails look professional. Once you have sent your emails you can see stats like % Opened and click rate.
If you don’t have a mail list already then constant contact can provide you with a ‘join my mailing list box’ so you can begin to create a list. Because the trial is 60 days you have plenty of time to create a mailing list and send newsletters out.
I know what you might be thinking. That it might be difficult to get readers to give you their email address well, one good tactic that big boy Johnny Chow is using is by giving away a free ebook in order to get the information. This tactic is useful as the person downloading your free ebook may not read you blog but just wants the ebook… the news letters will remind the person that you blog exists and you may gain a reader.
I don’t have an ebook to give away ?
Find one to give away there are plenty of good ebooks that are useful and also give you distribution rights or resell rights.
