About a month ago I read over at Erik Karey.com about how Erik was making money through eBay’s affiliate program with niche eBay stores. He posted a screen shot of his stats, he made $300 in less than 1 month! This immediately got my attention and I decided to give it a try. The whole idea uses wordpress as the store platform with phpBay pro plugin attached ($49 to purchase). I setup two of these niche stores using the plugin and I found the whole process effortless.
The eBay affiliate program is generous just look at their commision structure:
Revenue Share Compensation
| eBay Revenue | Compensation |
| $0 - $99.99 | 50% |
| $100.00 - $4,999.99 | 55% |
| $5,000.00 - $199,999.99 | 60% |
| $200,000.00 - $699,999.99 | 65% |
| $700,000.00 - $2,999,999.99 | 70% |
| $3,000,000.00 + | 75% |
This revenue share is the share of the profit that ebay makes (fees) and not the price the item sells for, but obviously the higher the item price the higher the fees so its better for you!
One tip I would give when setting up your niche eBay store would be to pick something that isn’t too high priced, something that will be more of an impulse buy as this will get you more conversions.
Its only been one month since I set up my stores and already I have been getting commisions I think next month with more promotion of the site it will just get better and better.
