If you are serious about making money online you need to be productive and efficient with your time. Here are my top tips to keep productive for working online.
1) Get up early //
If you get up early you will have more time to get things done and in the long run this will make you feel better rather than staying in bed too long, which often makes you feel worse. This tip is so simple yet it is really effective!
2) Create a Daily Schedule //
I find this really useful. By setting a schedule up for the day I know exactly what I need to be doing at all times. Instead of wasting time thinking ‘hmm what should I be doing now’. There is no need to do this when your on a schedule. Include your breaks and lunch in your schedule. I try to have a break every 2-3 hours. Even if its just going downstairs for a cup of coffee or sometimes I will go in my garden and kick a soccer ball round.
3) Prioritize Your Schedule //
Prioritize your schedule so the most important things get done first and also include the things you have been putting off, because the more you put it off the harder it will be to do it.
4) Do One Thing At A Time //
While you think you may be doing more when doing 3 or 4 things at once, your actually not. Multi-tasking has actually shown to decrease efficiency. If you are constantly sending and receiving emails, schedule to do this once an hour. This way you will not be interrupted every few minutes whilst working.
5) Outsource if you can’t do the job (properly) //
A classic example was this week with my header. I am not the best graphic designer and I know this. I could not learn how to increase my graphic designing skills in a few hours or a few days. It would most likely take weeks. This is why I outsourced my header image as this gave me time to get on with other things rather than struggling to create a graphic.
Outsourcing is not always the best option as learning new skills is always good but if its going to take too long to learn or its not something your likely to reuse then outsourcing is often the best option.

Great tips. Anyone who implements these into their day will undoubtedly see an increase in productivity. It’s hard for me to stick to productivity sometime, I always get sidetracked on the internet

Thanks for your comment Derek. I know this is an issue for a lot of people, getting side tracked on the internet is very easy. I know some bloggers turn off their internet connection when they are writing blog posts. Fortunately for me I don’t need to do this as I manage to keep my focus whilst writing most of the time.
