Since my move to Sheffield I’ve started to find it hard to write my posts, I don’t know why this is but I’ve been looking into ways in order to beat the dreaded writers block.

1) Take a Break

Get away from your computer. I find that if I am at my computer too often I can’t concentrate on writing a post, if I get away from the computer, take a walk with fresh air or go the pub and have a beer. When I come back I feel refreshed and ready to write.

2) Write Your Headline First.

By writing about the headline first you know what you will be writing about. A good idea is to think of as many headlines you can think of and put them in a document. That way when you get stuck with writers block you can go back to that document. Spend a good amount of time on this because the headline is the first thing a potential reader sees. 3) Capture Your Ideas

I often think of ideas at the most awkward times and often I forget about this idea. Now when I get an idea I am going to use my phone to save any ideas I get in a draft text message then I can look them up later. I won’t be using a notepad because I wont have that on me all the time were as with my mobile phone I always have it with me.

4) Speak to Friend and Family

I often speak to my girlfriend about my blogging and sometimes I can get really good ideas from her. Things that I would never have thought of. Its the old 2 brains are better than 1 saying.

5) Stumble, Watch, Read

You can find stuff to write about by using social network sites like stumbleupon, by watching videos on youtube and reading other websites/blogs. All these things can often give me inspiration to write.
