Firstly apologies for not posting as much as I normally do, the university degree course I am doing is a lot harder than I originally thought, so most of my time is going towards personal study rather than blogging and internet etc.

What I want to talk about in this blog post is obvious from the title ‘don’t be afraid to blog as yourself’. What I mean by this is, be yourself when writing, don’t write as if your a professional blogger if you’re not. Its taken me a while to figure this out because if you look at some of my earlier posts in this blog, you will find I don’t really put any personality in my posts and kind of keep it on a professional basis.

But ask yourself do you want to read a professional blog with no personality or do you want a read a blog that has personality and opinions rather than keeping straight down the middle and not showing your opinions because you are scared of what others might think. I know I prefer to read blogs with personality such as this blogs sponsor: 45n5.com

Like I said before I have been guilty of this for a long time and only now I realise than this is my blog and if I want to say fuck in a post I will. When I first started I would have never dreamed of posting something with swear words in because its seen as “unprofessional”, but in reality anybody who knows me, will know that I swear my fuckin head off all the time, in fact I swear far too much, but hey that’s just me!

As a conclusion of the point I want to get across is just be yourself in your posts because its your blog! you don’t have to be professional if you don’t want to be!

It took me 4 months of blogging to figure this out. So if your a new blogger I’ve just saved you 4 months time! Hey you can pay me back by buying me a beer below ;)

tnx.gifI’ve come across a new company called TNX.net. Basically TNX is an advertising system which allows you to buy and sell text links, but with a difference to Text Link Ads. With TNX when you buy text link ads from them you can buy lets say 5,000 links for only $5.7 a month or 1,000 links for only $1.14. Rather than $15/link with TLA!

You can pick what type of links you want by category such as business, finance, industrial, real estate etc. You can pick how many yahoo backlinks they have and what Google page rank they have. There is also a geo-targeting part so you can choose what language the sites are in. TNX uses a points system where 1 TNX-Point = $0.002.

tnx-prices.gifTNX has successfully got to number 1 spot on highly competitive keywords such as ‘Text Link Ads’, ‘Buy Text Ads’, ‘Sell Text Ads’ using this method of have thousands of links on 1 page per site rather than sitewide links.

You can place up to 4 links on each page of your site. So if you have 1,000 pages on your site and you get lets say $0.05 per link (for example) that’s $200 per month. It could be that you will get more than $0.05/link but that’s just an example. To find out what your potential earning could be you can use the TNX Calculator on the main-page on the left side of the side.

Here are the key points for Publishers:

  • You’ll be able to sell links on every page of your website, instead of just the main page.
  • Automatically sell links to thousands of advertisers.
  • Receive payouts every month in advance, via PayPal, Check, Wire, or any other applicable payment method.
  • Easy code installation using “copy-paste” method.
  • The price for each link is calculated automatically. It mostly depends on Google PageRank (PR) of each page, website category, link popularity, and number of outbound links.
  • TNX commission is just 12.5% from each party involved in transaction.
  • Our system is Secure and Confidential: No public list of users. All sales are automated.

Here are the key points for Advertisers:

  • Improve your site ranking in search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Live.com and more.
  • Automatically place millions of non-reciprocal links to your site.
  • Your links will be placed on relevant pages (You’ll be able to choose it’s quantity and quality).
  • Receive well-targeted traffic from relevant sites.
  • Prices of links are the lowest on the market. For as low as $11 a month you may get up to 10,000 static links to your website.
  • Convenient interface which will help you promote thousands of your keywords and pages without a hassle.
  • SEO specialists and consultants get discounts up to 50%.

TNX also offer a referral program:

When you refer webmasters to TNX.net, you get 13.3% (as long as your account is active) of all TNX-points that are generated by their websites. In addition, you will receive 5% of all payments, made by referred advertiser.

I think TNX are offering a great service for both Publishers and Advertisers. The thing that impressed me so much is their low commission rate of just 12.5% I think this is very cheap compared to the 50% from TLA.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up now!

Earn $$ with WidgetBucks! WidgetBucks is the latest craze at the moment, first it was AGLOCO, then BlogRush and now WidgetBucks. One of these things that sort of go massive and everyone blogs about.

What is WidgetBucks?

Basically its a widget that displays products related to your site and pays you per click, they are boasting a eCPM between 3-6$ depending on the type of add you promote on your site or blog. Here is what a typical ad will look like:

Basically the ads are for products which you can select what products you want it to serve or you can have it scan your content for you and it will pick the products for you. When you sign up to WidgetBucks you get a bonus of $25 for signing up which makes it worth the signup even if you dont promote the products you may always change your mind down the line.
They also have a referral program: “With WidgetBucks’ Referral program, affiliates can earn a 10 percent referral fee based on the commissions earned by the people they refer. Affiliates receive this 10 percent for the full 12 months after the new member joins. Payouts to affiliates are monthly, along with their commission checks.”

Why I won’t be using WidgetBucks

  • My blog is about making money online, most of the readers/users are trying to make money not spend money on products.
  • The widgets are in flash and I think having one flash banner on this site is enough as it does get annoying when trying to read.
  • All of the products are in $$$ and the other sites/blogs I could possibly use the widgets on are based around the UK/EU Market so I don’t think many would click on them.

Conclusion

I think overall it looks like a good program to be apart of but I think they need to add a few things such as geotargeting and non-flash ads

Yesterday I posted about DealDotCom being a scam which was pointed out by 19 year old Australian entrepreneur, Anthony Feint of BloggingDosh.com.

Soon after posting this the creator of the product ‘MarketingGraphicsPro‘, Didier Faucher came on my blog and left a comment saying Anthony Feint was a reseller of the product ‘MarketingGraphicsPro‘ and the website Anthony blogged about marketinggraphicspro.us was actually Anthony Feint’s site which was confirmed by a whois from myself and Didier Faucher:

marketinggraphicspro.us :
Administrative Contact:
Media, Flask info@flimble.com
MyEzy Web Services

flimble.com :

bloggingdosh.com :

So Anthony Feint was trying to create a buzz that DealDotCom were scammers when in reality he was the scammer. He was trying to undercut DealDotCom himself by devaluing the product at only $7.

This morning I checked Anthony’s blog and the post he wrote about yesterday has been deleted ?? Guilty as charged.

Morale of the story don’t try fuck others over it will only come to bite you in the ass.

Looking at my feed reader this afternoon after Chemistry, Maths and Physics (boring!) lectures, I seen an interesting post about DealDotCom. By Anthony:

“DealDotCom was offering the MarketingGraphicsPro package for $10. This may sound like a good deal until you realise you can get it from another site for $7. Thats right MarketingGraphicsPro.us sells it for $7.”

“What further annoys me is the fact that they listed the regular price at $37 - yet I couldn’t find anywhere on the net where I could actually purchase it for this much! The only place where you can get it for $37 is the official website, but….I wouldn’t be surpised if this price had either been jacked up or will be lowered after it has been displayed on DealDotCom.”

You Can read the full post DealDotCom is a Major Scam!

This was a very interesting read and in case some of you are not readers of Anthony’s blog I thought I would share this information with you all. I think everyone should think carefully before buying from DealDotSCAM in the future!
