google_jokers.gifAfter the longest wait for Google PageRank to happen, it looks like its finally starting… how do I know this? JohnChow.com has gone from PR6 to PR5 why would Google do this? John Chow must be getting inbound links coming in on a daily basis because everyone writes about him. So why would Google decrease the Chows page rank? Well we know that Google obviously doesn’t like Chow because they not long ago bitch slapped him for doing his ‘review me for a backlink’ campaign. He was at #1 spot for ‘make money online’ in Google and now I think he’s on page 6-7, he doesn’t even rank on page 1 for his own name…. how ridiculous…

My question is.. Is Google being fair? In my eyes there was no reason John Chow’s Page Rank should go down to PR5 it seems to me that Google is being unfair…

Google’s open directory project aka dmoz is known for being corrupt you just have to read shoemoney’s post here about the editor of dmoz demanded $5k or he would remove Shoemoney’s site…

What do you guys think about this? Is this fair what Google has done to John Chow?

cheese-mmo.gifI am fed with bull crap websites and sales pages for make money online ebooks. It really is ridiculous they go on and on about how much money they make and how much you can make but never actually tell you what the fuck it actually is, because in reality they actually make most of their money buy selling their shitty ebook with information you already know.

Why am I going on about these websites? well because you tap in ‘make money online’ in google and you come to one of these sites were you have to spend money ? not make money… when in reality there are sites out there such as this site, Carl O’Cab, and 45n5 to name but a few, were you can get this information for free.

These sort of sites capture the newbies that have never tried to make money online and when they hear this guy coming out of their speakers saying “I make 6 figures a year with this system and anyone can do it” what a load of baloney. They say things like you can just sit back, relax and watch the money come in…. HAHA!

I feel sorry for the people who buy these ebooks because the majority of the time the information is available on FREE blogs already.

Thats my rant for today tell me what you think about these sort of sites or landing pages..

I’m doing a bit of a risk today selling the 728*90 banner with a starting price of just $1.

This is an auction is for the chance to place your ad in the 728*90 place for 30 days starting from the day you win the auction.

This site gets about 25k Page Views a month+ and about 3500+ uniques this is your chance to get some very cheap traffic to your site.

Rules of the auction are as follows…

  • To place a bid put the amount you want to bid in a comment on this post.
  • no gambling, porno or medical sites of any kind
  • bid increment is $5
  • the auction will end Sunday 30th September 2007 @ 9pm UK Time
  • Payment is by paypal only.

I will be true to my word if you bid $5 and win I will still place your ad for 30 days as agreed.

Good luck all hopefully this should be fun!

Since my move to Sheffield I’ve started to find it hard to write my posts, I don’t know why this is but I’ve been looking into ways in order to beat the dreaded writers block.

1) Take a Break

Get away from your computer. I find that if I am at my computer too often I can’t concentrate on writing a post, if I get away from the computer, take a walk with fresh air or go the pub and have a beer. When I come back I feel refreshed and ready to write.

2) Write Your Headline First.

By writing about the headline first you know what you will be writing about. A good idea is to think of as many headlines you can think of and put them in a document. That way when you get stuck with writers block you can go back to that document. Spend a good amount of time on this because the headline is the first thing a potential reader sees. For some tips on how to write a good headline check out copybloggers post

3) Capture Your Ideas

I often think of ideas at the most awkward times and often I forget about this idea. Now when I get an idea I am going to use my phone to save any ideas I get in a draft text message then I can look them up later. I won’t be using a notepad because I wont have that on me all the time were as with my mobile phone I always have it with me.

4) Speak to Friend and Family

I often speak to my girlfriend about my blogging and sometimes I can get really good ideas from her. Things that I would never have thought of. Its the old 2 brains are better than 1 saying.

5) Stumble, Watch, Read

You can find stuff to write about by using social network sites like stumbleupon, by watching videos on youtube and reading other websites/blogs. All these things can often give me inspiration to write.

I got banned from digg for doing exchanges on the Digital Point Forums, let that be a lesson to you all! if your even arsed if you get banned, because basically I’m not because you had to get about 2000+ votes to get on page 1! Obviously getting that amount of digg those persons are more than likely using a digg voter ring anyway. Enough about that….

Sphinn is a new network like digg I have been using and what I have seen so far is great. You only need about 20+ votes to get on page one and most of the sphinn users are bloggers, so when you get a vote from sphinn you potentially get a new reader as bloggers are more likely to add your blog to their rss reader in my opinion.

I know what your thinking “I won’t get the same amount of traffic from sphinn as I will from digg”

Well you have to think about the quality of the traffic you will get from sphinn rather than digg as like I said most of the users are bloggers. I think I’ve had more traffic from sphinn than I did get from digg even with getting people to vote me up on digg, because digg is so big even if you get 30 diggs you wont get that much traffic. and hey you can always use both services!

Everyone who blogs is always trying to promote their blog, so I suggest if your not using sphinn to start using it!

I’m now in my new room at Sheffield University. I’ve missed some posts the last 48hours of due to me moving so with me trying to catch I’ve been reading up on whats been going on… here’s some interesting ones.

1) Money Links - 45n5 has made a new edition to the top 100 make money online blogs list. He has started his own sort of ranking system for the posts within those top100 blogs. The users of 45n5 can vote up or down any posts they feel they want to vote on and this will be another thing the blogs in the list will be assessed by! This is a great idea in my opinion and great edition to Mark’s linkbait list!

2) 5 Tips on Creating Quality Content - Some good tips from Derek on creating quality content.

3) Increase Your Google Adsense CTR by Rotating Colors - great tool come to my attention from eMonitized so you can change your google adsense colours on each refresh of your page and therefore making the ads standout more. This isn’t something I could implement on this blog but is something I could possibly implement on future projects so I will keep it bookmarked.

Short one this week.Theres a lot of crap posts about blogrush and dealdotcom so found it difficult to find some decent reads. still Thanks to Peep at Life for taking advantage of my free backlink offer

I’m sorry to my regular readers for not posting today and possibly not posting tomorrow (hopefully my internet will be working straight away in my new room). I will be going to Sheffield University tomorrow morning. As you can imagine, today has been very busy for me and I haven’t time to go on my computer until now. For those of you that are interested I will be studying Chemical Engineering.

Don’t worry, I will still be blogging whilst studying as I hope the extra income will help me live! Normal posts will continue most likely 23rd Sept.

Good luck in making your money without my posts until then!

It’s not a secret that I am bidding on the keyword ‘Make Money Online‘ so when someone searches for those keywords in google they will see my site appear (not on page one yet, but getting there! I’m on a respectable page 3 right now!). My point is here they want to find ways of making money online and not necessarily: Top 50 Make Money Online Blogs Ordered by RSS Readers or How to See a Non-Public Feed Count. So I’ve decided on doing a post that lists all the ways to make money online.

Displaying CPC ( Cost Per Click ) Ads on your Site or blog.

Most of these CPC Networks work in the same way by showing relevant text or image ads on your site based on what content you have on your site.

Google Adsense

BidVertiser

ExoClick

Yahoo Publisher

Chikita

AdBrite

Kontera - In Text Links - Kontera turn specific keywords in your content into an ad which show up as double underlined.

LinkWorth

ABC Search - Get $100 in clicks free when you sign up with these guys.

Make Money Writing

You can make money by writing about other business’s or blogs. They will pay for this as it gives exposure to their site with a personal recommendation from you and also the added benefit of links from your site to their site.

Review Me - For high class blogs with good stats ( hard to get on the program)

Pay Per Post - medium to get on the program

BlogVertise - easy to get on the program

BloggerWave - easy to get on the program

The harder it is to get on the program the better the earning potential.

Helium - You don’t need a blog to use this site. They have a marketplace were publishers will pay between $20 to $200 per article. They also have contests with cash prizes.

ProBlogger Job Boards - you can find blogs that need writers on these boards that are often paid positions

Make Money Taking Online Surveys

GlobalTestMarket - This is one I have used my self and are a decent company.

BuzzBack

I don’t really use online surveys, its only because I started with GTM that I am continuing with them. So I don’t know that many companies for Online surveys if you know of more please comment below.

Make Money with your Videos

Flixya - 100% adsense revenue sharing

PlugAdPlay - This is a new company I found on KillerAdStartups

Metacafe - I have written a post about metacafe here: make money with videos

WackiVideo - 50% revenue sharing with a 10% affiliate program

Affiliate Marketing Programs

Affiliate Marketing is advertising a specific product or service in a banner or text link and when a person clicks that link they go through to product or service ‘landing page’ if that person then buys the product or signs up for a service you can get commission. The commission varies depending on what program you are on. You can promote affiliate links on your website or blog or even by using a CPC system. (WARNING: some affiliate programs do not allow CPC on certain keywords). The following are affiliate networks that will have lots of affiliate programs for you to sign up to:

Affiliate Future (International) - One positive from this network is you don’t have to wait to be approved for programs you have access to the links straight away

Web Gains (UK) - Another site like Affiliate future you don’t have to wait to be approved for programs. They seem to have a few more recognisable names though.

Buy.at (UK/US) - You have to wait to be approved with these guys.

TradeDoubler (International) - This was the first affiliate network I joined… great quality.

Commission Junction (International)

Affiliate Window

Azoogle Ads

LinkShare (UK/US)

ClickBank (International) - Mainly dealing with electronic products such as eBooks

Make Money By Clicking/Completing Tasks

AdBux.org - Earn money by clicking on ads for 30 seconds often about $0.01 per click (Min payout $10)

CashCrate - Earn by completing tasks such as surveys or signing up to free services these can vary the amount you get paid but average is about $1/free sign up and confirm your email address.

Make Money Selling Private Adspace

Once your site or blog is established enough you could start to sell your adspace to individuals. I would only recommend this once your site/blog is established with good stats etc. You can use agencies to do this for you like:

Text Link Ads - Sell Text link ads on your site with a 50% commission for them.

D-Click - Sells banners and text links with 25% commission for them.

Make Money from Banner/Website Design/Coding

If you are gifted in graphic design, coding or web design then you can make money through your skills.

DP Forums - Lots of banner design contests on this forum and you could probably find other work here also.

iFreelance - Freelance work website.

That’s really all I can think of right now. I’m sure I’ve missed something out.. so if I have please point it out in your comment. Thanks!
